Suppress blank lines in addresses

I have a mail merge document which is picking up
information from the database in the following way :

<firstname> <lastname>
<address1>
<address2>
<city>

If address1, 2 are blank, then printing of blank lines is
suppressed, which is how I want it. But when I cut and
paste these lines into another word document (which is not
a mail merge document), then I get 2 blank lines in place
of address1, 2. Is there any way in which I can suppress
the blank lines in the second document also ?

Thanks for helping.

Meenu.

Hi Meenu,

Not easily. For one thing, if the other document is not a
mail merge document, then it also has no access to the mail
merge data, which can lead to loss of the address information
in all the other fields, eventually.

I'd say: EXECUTE the merge to a new document, and copy the
address from there. No fields involved, then, so everything
will stay the way it looks when you copy...
