Suppress the Access window

How does one, or can one, suppress the
Access window when an application is
opened? I.e., only the switchboard window
is displayed when the application is launched.

And, assuming that can be done, will holding
down the shift key when launching negate the
suppression?

I would rather suggest you just hide the ms-access interface, and prevent
users from seeing any of the ms-access application. However, while there is
a way to hide the access "main" window, you probably are better off not
doing that.

However, you can, and most certainly should consider hiding all of the
ms-access interface. Your users will thus not have to see, use, or have the
ability to use the ms-access stuff.

You can do this quite easy with the start-up options. Try downloading the
3rd example in the following web page of mine. It is a a2000 example, and it
hides all of the ms-access interface with NO CODE. All I used was the
start-up options.

Albert, I tried to create a "custMain" toolbar so that
I would only get "File" on the Access toolbar line, but
just creating it, leaving it unchecked and specifying that
name in the "startup" options cause Access to offer up
some error message when I opened the MDB. What else
did you do when you created your "Cool Application".

Sorry Bill...I somehow missed this question.

As far as I know, I did nothing else too special with that application.

We probably don't want to get confused between tool bars, and menu bars.

You need to create a "menu bar". If you hold down the shift key, you can get
into that sample application and take a close look at it.
