Survey to individuals having no infopath?

I'd like to send out a survey to a bunch of individuals who all have Office,
but may be running XP, 2000, 2003, or 2007, each with the standard version
or the Professional version, and may be running MAC Leopard or Linux, etc.

If I create an Infopath form using Office 2003, can I email this to the
various recipients, and if so, what are they going to see? and what will I
see when I get it back? How would I incoroprate their results into an Access
database?

Hello,

You can send those InfoPath forms directly to various recipients. After
receiving those forms in email they can directly open changing of ‘href’
value in xml.
Access database should able to access in network to open that InfoPath form.

In InfoPath 2007 (I haven't used 2003 much if at all), there's a setup
that allows one to publish to a sharepoint site in a way that the user
does not need infopath installed - just a web browser. It might be
worth looking into that.

Dear Larry,

for a sharepoint, I need to pay for the software, as far as I know.
This is very difficult, a lot of experience is needed. If you have a quick
manual how to publish a form via sharepoint, let me know.
Thanks
Joe

There is enough complexity that I a) am not confident I understand all
the pieces, b) am not confident that I can write down all the pieces,
and c) am not certain that what I think I know is correct.

It appears that one needs, within SharePoint, to have a site other
than "My Site" in which to develop. In my case, I created a forms
library and indicated that it should use InfoPath 2007 as a template.
I also went into the forms library advanced settings and set the
checkbox for running forms within the web page.
I then copied the URL for that library, went to InfoPath 2007, and
selected publish for my form. It asked me for a URL and I gave it the
URL of my forms library.
The publish wizard gave me the option of checking a box to indicate
that the published form should be run as a web page and not as a
separate program.
