Suspected corruption in file

I have a complex file that was first authored in Office 2003 (suspected some
corruption back then), it has been considerably updated in Office 2007
format. I needed 2 versions - Office 2003 and 2007, so the file was then
saved (under a different name) in Compatibility mode.

As the file was updated new editions were created and then resaved in
compatibility format. When saving the 38th edition (!) the file size in the
compatibility version jumped from 4 meg to 8 meg. No additional sheets were
added, only formulas changed. The 2007 version was 2.1 meg and gradually
increased in size to 2.5 meg even though only formulas were changed.

Some points:

Styles are used rather than formatting individual cells
The file contains some AcitveX checkboxes with VBA code, so using the patch
in Office 2003 to allow 2007 files to be opened, doesnt allow the checkboxes
to be used.

Should I be concerned that there is corruption in EITHER of these 2 files?????

Have you checked to see what Excel thinks is the used range on each
worksheet?

Hit CTRL + End to see where Excel takes you. Excel is notorious for
over-estimating the used range.

If far below and right of your real used range you can reset.
