As Peter suggested, ask permission first. Then when installing the programs
select custom install and allow it to place the new programs on the computer
(use different folder than the older version) but don't allow it to remove
the old version.

Read every screen carefully before making a selection.

I have a computer that currently has Office 4.3 (the version from Windows
3.1), Office 97, Office 2000, Office XP (2002), Office 2003 installed. All
will work (after the program goes through its "reinstall" when switching
between versions of Word. Have even had multiple versions of PPT open at
the same time when instructing. Don't recommend to have multiple versions
of Word open (but I have done that successfully but the Normal.dot file can
get corrupted) open at the same time.

He nearly had a heart attack last night.Windows failed to validate his office
2000.He finally got it to validate after a re install deleting some dat file
and tweaking his firewall. I purchased the home /student and he installed a
customed edition. Both computers now up and running

Glad you got everything up and running. Heart attacks are definitely bad
things to happen when you are working on a computer. When you become
unconscious, your head hits the keyboard and all you get is a;sxdfjn
