I am looking to procure ruggedised hardware for a field data collection
project. This hardware will need to run standard Microsoft Office
applications for data transfer to desktop teams.
I have identified a product which is perfect in terms of user configuration
and exceeds all of the official MS listed requirements for Office 2007 -
aside from the display. If it aids your response, the product that I am
investigating is the Panasonic Toughbook CF-U1.
The product's display is WSVGA (1024 x 600) whereas the MS minimum
specification provided for Office 2007 is XGA (1024 x 768). Can anyone
confirm that there will be an issue running Office 2007. Office 2003 has a
minimum specification of SVGA (800 x 600) - would it be recommended that this
version would be better suited to the WSVGA display?
I have emailed the MS Customer Helpdesk and they suggested that I post in a
Dsicussion Group.
Best regards,
