swap time zone issue

Hi all,

I have a user who wishes to see an alternate time zone on her calendar since
she travels between two offices, Eastern time and Pacific time. The primary
time zone is Eastern time. If she chooses to swap the time zone, she gets an
error saying that she doesn't have the permission to do this. So although she
can see the alternate time zone, she is not allowed to swap it on her
calendar. I, as well as other users, have done this successfully and we do
not have Admin rights on our computers. Any thoughts on how to correct this?
Please let me know.

FYI, we are using Outlook 2002/2003 on an Exchange 2003 server.

You do need Administrative rights to change the time zone on the workstation.

Only administrators and power user group members can change the system time.

Add this user to the power user or admin group or adjust the local security
policy and add that user to the 'Change the System Time" right.

Hi Omar,

Since is against our policy to make give our users Adminstrator or PowerUser
rights, I tried the change the local security policy to change the system
time. However, once the user had the Admin rights stripped away (I needed to
do this in order to make the change), the functionality of changing the
system time doesn't work. We do not have any group policy in place at the
moment. Do you have any other suggestions Please let me know.
