Swapping rows and columns

Susan Eisen

Is there a quick (and I do mean quick) and dirty way to
convert my rows to columns and my columns to rows?
Thanks,

If you have Excel, you can do this pretty easily, though if the table is
highly formatted (and especially if you have any merged cells), it may be
more trouble than it's worth to reformat the table. Here's how to do it:

1. Copy the entire table.

2. Paste into Excel.

3. Copy the cells in Excel.

4. Edit | Paste Special (to another location in the worksheet), checking the
"Transpose" box.

5. Copy the transposed data back into Word.

I find that things like that usually do take a couple of tries. I've never
yet managed to get a mail merge right on the first try! <g>
