Swapping/Sharing Word Documents between 2000 & 2002

We have about 40 users and about 1/3 each have 97,2000, & 2002. When one
users creates a document in 2000 and then another users opens it in 2002 the
formatting is not the same. Same is true if a user creates in 2002 and
another 2000 user opens. Not worried about 97 but should the 2000 & 2002
users be able to share files without formatting issues. I would think the
only difference is features between the two. What could be causing these
changes? I've seen different printers cause problems but not change the
formatting?

Thanks,

Barclay

Different printers can change the formatting also: different minimum margins
is the most common issue; also (conceivably) different fonts.

Right but if those were the same on each pc the document should look exactly
the same on 2000 or 2002 right?

Thanks
