switch from database authentication to windows authentication for Project Server?

Right now we are funning Project Server and Windows SharePoint Services
where Project Server is using database authentication and Windows
SharePoint Services using windows authentication (which it has to).

Is it possible to switch to windows authentication from database
authentication after the fact on the Project Server side without
disturbing thing?

How is that done?

Thanks,

You would need to manually change each user account from Project Server
authentication to Windows authentication. You will then need to ask your
project managers to change their Project Server login accounts in Microsoft
Project Professional. This will not change anything except how your people
log into Project Server. Hope this helps.

Thanks Dale. Based on your information, I assume its not an
all-or-nothing situation. That is, theoretically, you could have half
of your resources logging on via database authentication, and half of
your resources logging on via Windows authentication? Not that you
would want to do this, but I'd like to test this before going
"whole-hog" using a handful of users.

Thanks,
Andy

No, it is certainly not an all or nothing situation. You can set up your
system so that some users log into Project Server using Windows
authentication while other users log in using Project Server authentication.
It is entirely up to you. Remember this, however: those who log into
Project Server using Project Server authentication cannot access Risks,
Issues, or Documents. Hope this helps.

Dale,

One thing I may mention is that we are not yet a Microsoft shop (I said
yet because we are moving in that direction). Right now, however, we
use Novell so I would expect some sort of generic windows
authentication pop-up would be necessary once the PWA URL is invoked.
We DO have more than one AD, one of which is used for SharePoint login
on this same box I'm running Project Server..

Any additional guidance would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Andy

I'm not a network guy, so I'd suggest you repost your questions about the
network issues. Hope this helps.
