Switchboard

I have a switchboard containing two items, one for the
view only user and one for the edit user. I want to have
a password or some kind of security measure that will call
for the edit user to enter a password or something in
order to enter the 'data entry' item of the switchboard.
The other switchboard item allows the viewer to look at
records in a main table. I have set the table so that the
viewer can not edit any records. However, the data entry
person should be able to edit records and add new
records. Any help on this would be greatly appreciated,
