The way I see it you now have 2 choices:
1. Stay with Corp/Workgroup and just finish configuring the Outlook Address
Book correctly: Remove the Personal Address Book Service, enable your
Contacts Folder as an email address book in its properties, then restart
Outlook
2. Use IMO if you prefer, but make sure you configure the Windows Address
Book service correctly by enabling sharing in Tools > Options...
Either way your Contacts will appear in the address book view, unless all
this switching back and forth between modes has munged your Outlook profile
beyond repair.
