switching between documents in Word '08

I'm new to Word '08. In Word '04, you could switch between open
documents by keying command-tilde (~). That doesn't work in Word '08.
What's the secret?

And another thing: in '04, when dragging an object to a new position,
you could hold down the command key and not be locked to grid
positioning. That too doesn't work in '08.

Suggestions, please?

Depending on what you mean by "new" the first suggestion is to be certain
that Office is fully updated. The software shipped originally as 12.0 & more
recent production at 12.1.0 but the current level is 12.1.7 - If you aren't
sure run Help> Check for Updates.

Also, run Disk Utilities - Repair Disk Permissions, especially after any
updates are installed.

Yeah, it does :) & there's no secret. Further to updating as mentioned
above, however, you don't specify what version of OS X you're using. If
10.5.6 (Leopard) make sure you don't have Spaces active.

Have you tried using the Option key instead of Command?
