switching between slideshow & program causes white border to appear

C

in slideshow mode, I click to launch an outside program. but when I
return to powerpoint, a white border (at top and right) appears around
the slide.

has anyone encountered this problem before? I've tried resolving it
by switching my desktop color (to black) as well as making the
background color of the slide itself black, neither works.

any help would be appreciated!

I am using PP 2004 on a Mac PowerBook.

Hi,

This is a new problem that seems to affect only you so far. Does that make
you feel privileged? Probably not, LOL.

Let's start with some standard troubleshooting stuff. Have you installed all
of the latest updates for MacOS (Apple menu > Software Update)? How about
for Office (Help > Check for Updates)?

Hi Jim -- I installed the latest updates to my MacOS, and also updated
my office as you suggested -- but sadly, still no luck.

Just to give you some background, again -- I added an action setting
to a slide, so when you click it will run a flash projector. After I
hit ESC, to return to pp, the white border appears. It must be an
artifact from switching out of pp. I manage several mac laptops, and
the problem occurs on some but not others.

This problem is most awkward when I connect to a plasma screen and the
white border is quite prominent.

Thanks again for any help!

Hi Chris,

Then the problem might be hardware and/or device driver specific. Also be
sure you have the most up-to-date drivers for your video cards on the
problem machines.

If that doesn't help, then contact Microsoft support and explain what is
happening and be sure to include the brand, model, and driver versions for
your particular hardware. It might also be worthwhile to contact the
hardware manufacturer, as this sounds like a hardware specific problem.
