switching from live mail in spamkiller outlook needs receive cmd?

In Outlook Express I would simply view live mail in Spamkiller, then go to my
email in Outlook Express and the live mail would be there. Now in Outlook I
view the spam and live mail and go to Outlook and there is no mail there
until I press Send/Receive, then the spam ,which has already been deleted in
Spamkiller, shows in Junk E-Mail and the live mail, comes from Spamkiller to
Inbox. Have I missed out a setting, or is Outlook more difficult to use than
Outlook Express.
