Bear with me here guys, just want to make sure I've got all the info. Thanks
in advance to anyone who reads this novel and helps out.
I understand there is a risk of losing actuals if this isn't done correctly
so here's our deal:
Our Tracking settings currently are as follows:
Default method for reporting progress on tasks = Hours of work done per day
or per week: Resources report the hours worked on each task during each time
period.
Lock down defaults = Force project managers to use the progress reporting
method specified above for all projects.
Time period settings = Non managed periods, resources should report there
hours worked every day
All schedules are published to the server currently (should I still
republish and select overwrite actuals?). My plan is to process all updates,
turn off timesheets, then flip to managed time periods. After flipping to
managed timeperiods, should I republish? I believe one of our schedules has
been tweeked by a PM, will the changes he made to actuals be lost after the
switch over?
Also, creating a new schedule shouldn't be a problem but if we have a
corrupt schedule that needs to be restored from backup (with actuals in it),
do we need to switch to non-managed, publish the restored schedule and then
switch back to managed timesheets?
