Switching from Outlook Express to Outlook Today

I am trying to switch my email handler from Outlook Express 2002 to
Outlook Today 2002. Outlook Today will not recognize my Network
Password for some reason. A box always appears (Enter Network
Passport) so I have to press the ok button on this box for email
download to complete. I got Outlook Today to automatically download
email, but even to finish the auto download I still have to press ok
on the Enter Network Passport because the box will appear evev after
the send/receive status states 100% complete. I have checked the save
your password in your password list box, but it does no good. Every
time I want to finish the send/receive cycle I have to press ok on the
Enter Network Passport box because it won't finish or go away till I
do. I do not have this problem with my Outlook Exprees, it works as it
should. I would appreciate your help and time with this problem. Thank
You.

There are no such applications. There's Outlook Express V6 , currently, and
version of Outlook are Outlook 97, 97, 2002, 2003, and 2007. Say again
exactly what applications you're using.

What operating system?

It is Outlook 2002---Operating System (Microsoft Windows XP Home
Edition) Version5.1.2600 Service Pack 2 Build 2600. I apologize, I am
not very computer literate, but I want to learn to fix problems. I do
appreciate your patience and help.

Outlook Express V6 to Outlook 2002 is what I want to do. I imported
mail settings form Outlook Express 6 to Outlook. I also set default
mail handler settings to Outlook, and went to Programs in Internet
Options and set it for Outlook. Outlook Express still gets my email
though and Outlook doesn't; I just don't see what I am doing wrong.

As long as you continue to run Outlook Express, it will download (and,
apparently, delete) the messages fro your mail server. If you want Outlook
Express to stop downloading yor messages you can 1) stop running it, 2)
change the account and remove the "Include this account when checking for
new messages" check mark at the bottom of the account properties dialogue,
or 3) delete the account from Outlook Express. You can also continue to get
your messages with Outlook Express, but check the "Leave a copy of messages
on the server" box on the Advanced tab of the account properties. In any of
these cases, the server will contain your new mail when you connect to it
with Outlook.

Now, the question is, when you start Outlook, does it seem to behave
normally? Does it try to get your mail without errors? does the "Test
Account Settings" button produce results? When you review your account
settings in Outlook, do they match the values for the account as Outlook
Express shows them? Do you receive any error messages when you attempt to
get your mail with Outlook? If so, what is the exact text of those
messages?
