Switching identities

I have just helped to set up a new email account on Outlook Express for a
friend.
All the details in the Properties boxes are correct and as per instructions
from the new domain provider.
Her personal email address is the main account and and she switches
identities to view the new email account.
However emails addressed to both the original personal email address and the
new one come into the same main account Inbox . Also when she goes to create
mail in the main account, it produces the new account details at the end of
the message.
The two identities seem to have fused together - any thoughts on how to
separate them would be greatly appreciated - JAP
