switching identities

Does anybody understand why all MS programs have to be closed prior to switching identities in Entourage? This is a nuisance as my wife and I are constantly switching between each other's identity while Word, Excel or PwrPnt is open and it forces us to save and close them all.

Have you tried using separate OS X users and then using Fast User
Switching? I'm not certain, but this may solve your problem.

I recommend this option too. You do not have to quit anything when you use
Fast User Switching.

I haven't even heard of fast user switching but thank you both for the info. I'll dig into this a bit. Just seems like such a MS quirky thing that they make users even have to deal with it.
