switching identities

I use OL Express to access 2 e-mail accounts. I've set up 2 identities, but
when I use File, Switch Identity and select a different identity OL closes
and I can't get it to reopen without logging out of XP and back in again.

Is this necessary?

(I use Oulook Express 6 on Microsoft Office XP. )
