switching off second function on a letter ie press P get *?

I have changed my keyboard accidently so that I get the small letter or
number instead of the character I am typing.

In order to type correctly I have to press the fn button on the lefthand
side of my keyboard so that the letters U I O P J K L M do not give me 4 5 6
* 1 2 3 0

Can someone help me please as I have a report to type before the end of the
day.
