Switching PPT shows on the fly

Is there a script or process of having a 2nd PPT file queued up and ready to
go so that one doesn't have to escape from the first and then start the
second? I would like to have one PPT running and then with a simple
keystroke have the 2nd one queued up and ready to begin.

Hi TAJ,

Yes, it does, but OLE on the Mac is not as robust as OLE on Windows. If
you try to Insert > From File and browse to a PPT presentation you get
an automation error.

You can put a button or hyperlink to link to the second PowerPoint.

This does work with PPT 2004, but the original presentation continues to
run in the background. When you exit from the second presentation,
you're still in the original presentation.

Shyam Pillai (http://skp.mvps.org/) has a free PPT add-in called "Single
Slideshow Window Add-in" which prevents this; the original presentation
is replaced by the hyperlinked one. I used it quite happily with PPT
2000 on Windows when I was a Windows user; unfortunately, it seems to be
a Windows-only add-in, and doesn't work (for me, at least) with PPT
2004 on my Powerbook.

I don't think Shyam frequents this group, but he does frequent the
Windows PowerPoint group (microsoft.public.powerpoint). You can check
over there to see if Shyam can tweak the add-in to get it to work on the
Mac. My guess is that he can't because how he does it is probably
Windows-specific, but he is a real wizard, so it wouldn't surprise me if
he can.

Hi David,

An add-in that closes one presentation and opens another is not
something that would be hard to make.

If Shyam doesn't come up with a quick solution, please post back to this
thread.
