Switching views on submit, acts like it submits but doesn't

Ok, I figured the whole change views on submit thing. That works fine - in
the client when I do it through preview.

When I fill out the form and submit thru the Sharepoint site, it acts like
it submitted (even giving me the success msg) but it doesn't. It's not in a
different library either.

If I take away the rule that changes it to read only view, then it works
fine. I've tried all sorts of variations on the rules, like having the
"submit to data connection" be a rule etc.

I'm really at my wit's end here. Unfortunately, I'm not even an IT person
and I know more about this stuff than the IT people. They don't know any more
than I do! This is all really new to us and I'm the guinea pig!

Help!!!

If I understood you right, your InfoPath isn't saved after changing
the values?
Does the user oipening the InfoPath form has Contribution Rights in
SharePoint?

If I didn't understand you well, can you explain in more details ?

Thanks for your reply! Let me see if I can explain myself better.

Everything worked fine until I added the rule to change the view on submit.

My DC is set up to submit to the form library.

Under Submit Options, I have "allows users to submit this form" checked.
Then I have "perform custom action" checked. No condition set so this rule
always applies, and switch view to: read only.

In the InfoPath client, this works fine when I do it thru the preview. But
when I try to do it through sharepoint, it does not like it.

It will give me my custom success message after i click submit and then the
browser goes white with a message at the top that says "This form has been
closed." but it does not go back to the form library. When i go to the form
library there is nothing there. this is the only library on the site, so it's
not like it went somewhere else. i keep deleting the test docs so there's
not an issue with dup file names.

Any ideas? I'm so confused! Thanks!
