I am considering switching to MAC

I recently bought Office for my PC.

Do i have to re-purchase for MAC or are there any program
from Microsoft to assist so i do not incur the double
cost?

thanks

Unfortunately, there's no discount/switch program available (any guesses
why?). If you're a student or educator, buying the Student/Teacher
edition could save you a lot of money (note that it's not guaranteed to
be upgradeable, but if you'll continue in that status for a while,
buying a second S/T edition will be cheaper than buying an upgrade).

Alternatively, buying Virtual PC would allow you to run your existing
copy of WinOffice, albeit more slowly than if on a native WinTel machine
- if you only use Office occasionally, that's not a bad solution. If you
use it every day, I'd recommend getting MacOffice.

Hi,

I hate to think of how many thousands of Mac users were forced to pay for
copies of Windows, Windows Office, and who bought PCs over the years whose
pleas to let them use Macs at work fell on deaf ears. None of them got a
break.

My suspicion (it's pure speculation) is that the Windows Office group sales
folks would probably whine and complain if the MacBU offer upgrade pricing
for switchers for fear of market "cannibalilzation" or some other nonsense
excuse.

Despite the fact it would probably build good will for Microsoft as whole
and increase market share for MacBU, I don't think we'll see Windows
versions of Office be made eligible for upgrade pricing.

</End of soap-box chatter.>
