Use the Export function functionality from within Outlook Express.

After Outlook is installed, the is an 'Import and Export' function under the
File menu. It will import many formats, including Outlook Express, quite
thoroughly!

Don't use the import function from within Outlook unless you don't mind that
the dates of the messages gets a reset.

That is interesting.. I have only used it a few times, but I never noticed
that happening. Is that because it creates new objects for the imported
stuff?

Thanks for the tip!

they are ondifferent computers, their outlook express 6.0 and hteir
outlook 2003 programs. Could I still use the import function or would
I have to install one or the other into the users computers, then use
the import export function, then update the other computer?

Sounds like you would be best to use Export to get the data out of Outlook
Express, then move the exported file to the 'new' computer.

Roady [MVP] mentioned some issues with using Outlook's Import function,
maybe he has a good suggestion for this?

Yep;

If you have Outlook on the old system as well Export from within OE to
Outlook and transport the pst-file to the new computer.

If you don't have Outlook on the old system transfer the dbx-files from OE
to the new computer and configure OE with it. Then Export from within OE to
Outlook.
