Symbol font converted in Office 2004

All my characters in Symbol fonts have been converted to some other font
when I open them with Word/Powerpoint 2004!

This makes the suite totallyt unusable for me.

What's going on???

Hi Charles,

Do you have problems with symbol fonts, or with the "Symbol" font?

In any case, you could check in "Word > Preferences > Compatibility > Font
substitution" whether Word has all necessary fonts.

If there are substituted fonts, you should try to install the missing
fonts, or find out why Word can't use the installed fonts (printer
driver?).
