Symbols Do Not Match With Equation Editor

I did a complete install of Microsoft Office Pro on my school computer.
However, when I use Equation Editor, many symbols either do not work, or are
the WRONG symbol all together. For example, the prime symbol for derivatives
appears as a superscript 2, the delta appears as a box, and the congruent
symbol is epsilon. Any ideas on what would be causing this? Thanks.

Start the Equation Editor and then click the menu item Style > Define.
Make sure the UC Greek, LC Greek, and Symbol styles all are set to use
the Symbol font.
