Symbols library disappeared in Word 2002

I don't know what I did, but somehow the box that would appear when I chose
Insert Symbol, showing the symbols available, has disappeared, and I can't
for the life of me get it back. Any suggestions?

Yes, I do have a default printer, and maybe I should mention that it is
currently shared, if that could somehow matter.

That should not be an issue provided that the driver is installed locally.
