how do you use shortcuts for symbol insertion like you do for word?
I am a nursing student and to help save time it would be nice if I could you
my note taking and medical symbols

You can use the Character Map to add any symbol you like into OneNote. Type
charmap on the run command line to bring up the Character Map or Start>>
Programs>>Accessories>>System Tools.
