Sympatico outgoing email issues

Katrina Quintos

Hi all,

I've just started using Entourage. I tried to add my sympatico email
account and have managed to get the receiving part working. However, I
can't send emails. I've read Lynn's article online and have setup all my
outgoing seetings per her instructions... Smtphm.sympatico.ca as the
outgoing server, 995 for the port, SSL, etc. But I can't seem to get my
outgoing to mail to work.

I do believe that my account has the MSN/hotmail feature that Lynn
mentioned. Not completely sure, but I can access my sympatico email through
hotmail.com.

Does anyone have any suggestions or advice for me? I really want to be able
to use Entourage's project functions in conjunction with email.

Thanks in advance,
Katrina

These directions are for Mail, but it could help you get set up. If you can
set up Mail, then you can use the same settings in Entourage.

Mac OS X 10.5: Can receive email, but not send email

1. If you can receive but not send then you have a bad SMTP configuration
2. If you can send but not receive you have a bad POP or IMAP configuration

You can try re-entering info.
You can delete account and create a new one.
Using copy/paste can result in an extra space being added. Type carefully.
Check your Keychain for corruption.

Test your network with EavesDrop....Let it capture some stuff then
double-click any of the lines of text in the main window to see more detail.

This should identify the problem.
