Hi All,
We run a small network with dsl broadband connection.
On my computer after accessing Micorosoft Web site for a
while there seem to be a problem getting response back. I
check my router security log (it was a cheap brand router
so not much information there) and found that the machine
with IP address matching my PC is SYN FLOODING the server
with IP matching that of Microsoft (207.46.249.222). Every
time this happen i get no response back from MS website. I
use Windows 2000 with SP4 and the latest security patch
(one issue on the July 16th) and IE6 with SP1, also with
the latest patch. I always logon as normal user when
browsing the Internet so there should not be any spyware
or trojan horse installed on my machine. I would like to
ask for some suggestion on this matter. This situation
does not occur when I visit the Web site using
Linux+Mozilla. So again there migth be some malicious
software installed on my machine. Any advice will be
appreciated.
Regards,
