Sync between Sent Items-mailbox when using OWA and Sent Items in P

S

Suhail Sallam

Dear Sir
In my office I use outlook connected to exchange server through a LAN,
where I send and receive emails normally.
I use Personal Folders so I find all received emails in Inbox and all sent
emails in Sent Items of the personal folder.

At weekend I close my outlook before I go home in order to keep all my
received emails in the mail box of the server, I use Outlook Web Access (OWA)
connected to the exchange server through the internet where I send and
receive email normally and I find all the received emails in the Inbox and
all the sent emails in the Sent Items of the Mail box of the server (for
emails received and sent at the weekend).

When I return back to my office at the beginning of the week and open my
outlook all the received emails at the weekend will be pulled from the mail
box of the server to my Inbox of the personal folder BUT the sent Items
remains in the Sent Items folder of the mail box of the server and not pulled
to the Sent Items folder of the personal folder which we except that this is
a problem because in the send receive groups we select the sent Items folder
as we select the Inbox folder to be included in send/receive and to be pulled
to relevant folders.

this is exactly the problem I face and my colleagues as well, and I would
appreciate if you can help us in solving this problem if there is any
solution by changing some settings or by hot fix., i.e. how can the sent
emails using OWA and resides in the Sent Items of the mail box of the server
be pulled to the sent Items folder of my personal folder?

Thanks.

What did you not understand from the previous answer you got from both Brian
and Diane?
If you want a full sync of your content and be able to access it in both
Outlook and OWA, you'll have to configure tour account as an Exchange
account and make that your default delivery location. Right now it sounds
like you've either configured it as a POP3 account and/or have a pst-file
set as your default delivery location.

Dear,
I repeated my question to make sure that it was understood and rephrased it
from the point view of the user.

I mentioned in my question that my personal folder is the default delivery
location, and I know that if the Exchange account (OST) was my default
delivery location I will not have this issue, but my question was when using
PST file it is not fully synced (Sent Items is not synced for an example) is
this a bug or it is by design?
is there any solution to keep me using the PST file and get a fully
synchronization?

Thanks

No, that is not possible since the pst-file is an independent message store;
it holds no sync-link with the Exchange message store (ost-file). You'll
need to leave the message store of the Exchange account as the default if
you want to have a full sync.
If you want everything to be moved into a pst-file automatically, you can
use the AutoArchive feature for this but it will still require your Exchange
message store to remain the default.
