Sync Entourage with Address book

two questions:

1 Is there a way to have Entourage automatically sync contact with Address Book?

2: why do I get duplicate contacts in entourage when I export contacts and how do I stop this

Yes, activate SyncServices sync in the Preferences. It's a but buggy,
but it does just what you are asking for,

2: why do I get duplicate contacts in entourage when I export contacts
and how do I stop this

Well you need to provide a lot more details. Export how, to where ??
Are you saying that when you export contacts from Entourage, they end-up
duplicated *in Entourage*??

thanks --I've activated the sync services and it doesnt seem to be working at least I cant find any additions to the Address book--is there something else I should check

As to the duplication --I exported from Entourage using the export local contacts to a list --tab delimited file --and then imported it to Address Book which worked --and then the next thing I know I have duplicates of contacts in Entourage --the only other thing that I did close to that time was update and sync my iphone could it be that?

Not really. That should initiate within a few minutes.
You can always try to uncheck it, and check it back again in the
Preferneces to try and re-trigger the sync.

As to the duplication --I exported from Entourage using the export local

The only way I could see that happen would be having SYncServices
active. The new contacts in the AB migrate back to ENtourage and are not
identified as being identical.
Otherwise, really, I don't see how exporting contacts could lead to a
duplication in Entourage.

Entourage Calendar exported its items to iCal, but it doesn't appear that
any entries I put into iCal go back into Entourage.

You need ot put your iCal events in the Entourage calendar to get them
to sync. It's a realy pain IMVHO, but this is the only iCal calendar
that will sync :-(
