Sync fails with no authorization or username/password incorrect

Outlook 2002 on my laptop running XP has just started refusing to sync with
my SonyEricsson P900. I have never had any problems but suddenly the error
message 'You have no authorization or username/password incorrect' or 'an
error prevents SyncML to procede.' appears. I can sync the Tasks and Calendar
but the contacts, emails and notes fail consistently.
I have reset my phone and I have reinstalled Outlook but to no avail.
Please help.
