sync Hotmail with Outlook 2003

I imagine that I would need to sign up for Hotmail Plus, or the Outlook Live
Service..... can Outlook Email, Calendar and Contacts be used to sync with a
Windows Mobile 5 device, via ActiveSync?

I do not want to sync over the air - only via the USB cable.

Microsoft Support told me to contact the manufacturer for assistance, which
is not very helpful, as they products I wish to enquire about are totally
Microsoft.

You should be able to synch with that device without needing any of the
services you mention.
