Sync Problem - v.X, Tungsten T5

I'm using Entourage v.X
Mac OS 10.3.7
PalmOne Tungsten T5

I recently upgraded from a Palm V to a Tungsten T5. Installed the new palm
software but then could no longer sync. Purchased Missing Sync and the
(reinstalled) entourage conduit works again, but when syncing the date book,
I receive the following error:

An unknown error #16405 occurred
Failed Entourage Conduit (0x4015)

And now Address Book syncing fails:

Sync starting at 2/3/05 6:18 PM (18:18:18) on USB
œSyncing Address Book
œAn unknown error #16405 occurred
œFailed Entourage Conduit (0x4015)
œSync completed successfully at 2/3/05 6:18 PM (18:18:34)

Anyone have ideas?

In the hope that it might fix my syncing problem, I upgraded to Office 2004.
Alas, there is no change at all. I continue to get this error:

Sync starting at 2/7/05 4:15 PM (16:15:20) on USB
Syncing Address Book
An unknown error #16405 occurred
Failed Entourage Conduit (0x4015)
Sync completed successfully at 2/7/05 4:15 PM (16:15:41)

Someone? Anyone?

Did you install the new Entourage Sync conduit that comes with Office 2004
(Additional Tools folder)? That is a must. The older Entourage Sync
conduit that comes with Office X or downloaded from the Mactopia site
doesn't work with Office 2004.

Yes, I installed the new conduit. I also checked the box for "Enable
synchronization with these new handhelds"

I would suggest, then, that the culprit is a bad entry in the Address Book,
but it may also be a bad entry in your calendar. No easy way to discover
the bad entry, so this may not be much comfort. One possible culprit that
has bitten others is a repeating event in the calendar that has no end.

After more time than I'd like to admit, I've fixed this problem. It was not
a bad entry in the address book (exported, imported, etc..), but it seems
that the USB connection (my old Palm V was serial) was too fast for my
computer (450 Mhz G4) and my large Entourage DB (1.3 GB).

When I synced via bluetooth, the problem went away. This was repeatable and
consistent.

Hopefully this information will save someone else the grief.
