Sync stopped

I have ON on 3 computers. I can sync from 2 but one stopped syncing even
though I am logged into Microsoft Office Live. Any suggestions?

Hi Ben...thank you very much for this reply. I can browse to the location in
IE on the 3rd machine. I was able to resolve it by finding the following
message through a google search
(<http://forums.microsoft.com/MSDN/ShowPost.aspx?PostID=1313723&SiteID=1>)
and I deleted some of the logins and was able to solve the problem. It was
baffling that I could navagate to the site, but could not access it via
OneNote.

One other quick question: In ON when I do File->Open->Notebook, I have
difficulty getting to the OfficeLive directory. Sometimes I am able to go to
www.officelive.com and it works, and sometimes it doesn't. Usually, I go to
the browser and find the ON file and open one of the files in the folder and
after a few are open, it askes if I want to open the whole folder. Is there
a trick to navagate to the correct place from ON when you try to open a
Notebook?

Thanks,
Mitchell

Mitchell:

It sounds like you're successfully sharing OneNote notebooks from
OfficeLive. Could you give a short high level overview of how you
accomplished this? I don't think anyone else has made it work...

Thanks,
Lon

Hi Lon...The first step is to put the ON folder on one of the workspaces in
OfficeLive. Make sure that you are logged in to MSN prior to trying to
connect to the file on the workspace. Open ON and try to access the folder.
This is the tricky part. At first, I could not access my ON file directly.
So I went to my officelive website and selected one of the ON files in the ON
folder subdirectory and it pulled the .one file into ON. Then I tried to
access a couple more folders and then finally, ON asked if I want to open the
whole file, I said "yes" and that was successful. The key problem I could
not fully resolve was how to predictably do a "File-->Open-->Notebook and put
in URL that would get me to a page in OfficeLive that worked.

One other trick to try is the following: If your OfficeLive URL is:
organization.com - try from ON's File->Open->Notebook and putting in:
https://organizationcom.officelive.com. Another window will open in explorer
for some reason I don't understand. Then about 2 or 3 minutes later, just do
a "File --> Open --> Notebook" and you will find the correct page for the
entire document library! Then you can navagate to the Folder you want.

It is a bit kludgy, but it works. However, one critical thing to remember
is to be sure you are logged into your website prior to doing any of the
access or navagation. In general, I am pleased and think that when Microsoft
figures out the file access issue, it will be easier.

I hope this helps. Let me know how you make out.

Best wishes,
Mitchell

Ben...still having difficulties. ON will sync on Office Live on the 2
computers running XP, but on the one running Vista, it keeps disconnecting.
I have no idea why. Is there something about Vista that wants another
password? I first log into my office live website and then run Endnote but
Endnote, only on the Vista machine, wants another password. It works fine on
the XP machines.

Thanks,
Mitchell
