Synch One Note on laptop and desktop

I want to keep my laptop and desktop noteboooks synched. Synching never
seems to be an easy process with MS, but the One Note instructions on
synching are espcially murky. Can someone explain the synching options and
actions to me in simple English?

Would you suggest using SyncToy rather than offline files? Why? Also, does
SyncToy support encryption of locally stored files without having to encrypt
the files on the server? (not that I can get it to work anyway <g>)

Encryption of the files is "iffy" at best, and I wouldn't recommend it
unless you're absolutely positive you're going to be able to decrypt them.
A lot of people lose files because they've used encryption on XP, and the
need to format, etc., and the encryption is related only to the single
user/install.

SyncToy is relatively quick and flexible use, that's they I suggested it.

I use FolderShare to syncronize between the desktop and laptop. The only
problem is that the program can only be open in one computer at a time.
Otherwise it will display a message to either close FolderShare or the
program.

ShnchBack SE. Not the free version.

Works perfectly with the "smart sync" option. I sync to a USB memory
stick.

No I don't work for the company. Just a happy customer.
