Synch to Protected Actuals

When a resource leaves our organization, we change that resource to a Project
Server Account, log in as the resource, zero out all of the remaining work,
update that into the plan, and then deactivate the resource. We don't like
to delete him/her from the server since we may need to pull information
pertaining to that resource.

When a plan to which this resource has been assigned is synched to protected
actuals, this remaining work always reverts back to it's value before the
resource was deactivated. I've tried deactivating the resource both before
and after the update is made, but I can't see that that makes a difference.
Has anybody else encountered this or know of a way to keep this from
happening?

Thanks,

We've since solved this issue. The actuals were not reverting back to their
original values. If a resource never submitted any actual work to a task,
Project Server would place one hour back into the remaining work field for
that task. Now when we zero out the hours, we locate all of the tasks for
which a resource logged no actual work and take them off of that task. That
seems to solve the problem. If anybody else has any insight, it would be
much appreciated! Thanks!

Brian:

I'm fairly certain this issue is resolved with SP2 + the most recent post
SP2 hotfixes. See the announcement on the Projectserverexperts.com site for
the list of patches.
