Synchonizing Folders

GMiller

I am having a severe problem with Outlook 2003 taking 2-3 hours every
day "synchronizing folders." During this time it renders Outlook
virtually useless. I am not using Exchange, or an item that needs
synchronization ( Palm Pilot, Cell Phone, etc. ). I am only accessing
2 pop3 accounts with Outlook. Can someone please tell me if it is
possible to turn of "synchronizing folders".

Thank you,

Gary

TOOLS > SEND/RECIEVE > SEND/RECIEVE SETTINGS > DEFINE GROUPS
EDIT
The lower window shows you what is synching. Uncheck those folders you don't
want synched.

I don't see a checkbox for "synchronizing", I only have box for the
following items:

"Include this group in Send/Receive"
"Schedule an automatic send/receive every 2 minutes"
"Perform an automatic send/receive when exiting"

WHEN OUTLOOK IS OFFLINE
"Include this group in send/receive"
"Schedule an automatic send/received every 5 minutes"

Which one of these settings are you referring to?

Thank you,

Gary

You missed EDIT. Click the EDIT button on the left side.

Under the window titled FOLDER OPTIONS.

Ok, I clicked "Edit" and the only options I have are.
"Send mail items"
"Receive mail items"

Is there something else you are referring to?

Hi guys, I'm habing the same problem - I've got an additional section under
edit, in the lower half of the scren entitled folder options. Inbox is ticked
here and I cannot untick it.
I have managed to delete the + so maybe only the inbox with synch now, even
tho I did not ask for anything forders to do this.
Thanks P, for your helpful advice to Gary.
I'll see if this makes any difference now the + has gone.
Georgie
