Synchronised Outbox with IMAP Entourage?

Is it possible for Entourage to somehow synchronise my local (home)
computer with the work (presumably server) computer?

The problem is that when I reply to email from home (using IMAP
Entourage a/c to receive, google a/c to send) there's no record of the
reply when I log on and use Outlook at work.

Our tech people tell me it's not possible to sync mail.

It's odd because calendars seem to sync nicely.
