Synchronising 2 files in different places

A

Acadabra

Hello,

I'm new here and I'm not sure to be in the correct group for this
question. If I'm wrong thanks to let me know.

I've got a file which will be update regularly. This file is in a
protected place on our server.

I want a copy of this file, same name or not it doesn't matter, in a
public area to allow all users to have access to it but in Read-Only
mode.

So how could I synchronize these two files, one being in normal mode
and one in Read-Only mode?

As the user who will update & save the original document don't know
nothing about Excel, I tried to create a macro which will
automatically save the updated file in the 2 places. I didn't succeed
to overwrite the document in read-only mode.

Perhaps I've taken the problem the wrong way?

Thanks for your help

Open the file that you make the changes to, select save as from the
file menu. Under the Save As menu select tools-general options. This
will bring up another menu. Check Always create backup and read-only
recommended.
