I am just about to get a Macbook, is it possible, and if so how, to synchronise my Imac with the Macbook using Entourage 2008 for mail, calender, tasks etc? Also, I use a Windows Mobile and Missing Link on my Imac; can I sync this with both computers.

Hi,

I'm not sure exactly what you have in mind. WHat do you want to
synchronize with??
E-mails are usually the easiest: IMAP or Exchange accounts are stored on
the server and therfore accessible through any computer.
Calendar and address book synching between computers require an Exchange
server (or you sync to iCal and the address book through SYnc Services,
then to the other Mac through MobileMe).
Also, I use a Windows Mobile and Missing Link on my
Imac; can I sync this with both computers.

You will need to enable sync services so that the Missing Sync can sync
to your Windows Mobile device on the laptop if I'm not mistaking. You
might want to ask MarkSpace,

Sync'g the two is pretty simple and there are different ways to do
this. First you just need to ensure both computers are on your
network. You could use a sync program such as Folderssynchronizer,
which has been around for a while and I've used it and its very fast.
On one of your computers using Folderssynchronizer you'd just indicate
what the start and target folders are (doesn't matter whether its from
your iMac to Macbook or the reverse) and then sync. Everything from
one will be identical in the other. Careful when you do this. There
are different options for sync so you can define them tightly or
loosely - its just what you're comfortable with. I like both to be
identical. You could also use mobileme but it sounds like your
computers are in the same physical environment so the first approach
is best. But, if you want remote sync then mobileme might be what
you're looking for but I think its pricey. Finally, sync's using
Missing Sync on both computers is fine. Read their instructions on
this as there are rules for two computers. You will invariably get a
sync serv conflict but this is nothing. Just choose the one that is
right. If you do make a mistake all you have to do is start over with
a desktop overwrites handheld and sync to both computers but do read
the instructions around two computer sync. Hope that helps.
