Synchronization and *.onetoc files

I do my synchronizations manually (or using my own software) for My Notebook
folder between PC and Laptop.

Must the *.onetoc files be synchronized also?

What information is contained in the *.onetoc files? In particular, do they
contain information specific to the directory structure or PC in which the
respective My Notebook resides?

Alain,

If you want OneNote to open the folder contents identically on the
two machines it makes sense to synchronise the .onetoc files.

They contain information about the order of sections (e.g. if you have
made them alphabetical) and which sections are open or closed.
