Synchronization error

I used to link up my notebook with my office network and sync my HP iPaq 4150
with Outlook 2002 fine until a month ago when I started having problems with
Outlook as follows:

1. When I tried to shut down Windows, I received an error message saying
that "WMS Idle has stoped responding" and I need to end it before I could
shutdown my notebook. The shutdown time take much longer than it used to be.
I am having the same problem when I tried to start Outlook. I could not find
WMS process in the task manager but it appear everytime I tried to shut down.
I understand that it has something to do with Windows Messenger Service but I
have disable Windows Messenger since I started using this notebook but never
had this problem before. I have serched the internet for solution but so far
has found none.

2. When I tried to sync my iPaq with the notebook it just stuck at "Looking
for changes..." screen forever, only when I remove iPaq from is cradle then
an error message popped up saying that "An internal MAPI error has caused
thsi logon atemp to fail. MAPI 1.0 [000004C2]" When I closed this message
another message popped up saying that "Synchronization cannot started because
this desktop computer cannot access necessary information...." I have tried
every thing that this message suggest i.e. repair Outlook and scan pst file
including fix MAPI but still cannot sync as I used to do. Looking up the
internet for solution but could not find one.

Note: I recently updated to ActiveSync to version 3.8 and installed my Nokia
Phone PC Suite but after I started having the above problems.

My system:
Dell Latitude D500
Windows XP Home SP2 (with all Windows updates installed)
Outlook 2002 (with all Office updates installed)
Internet connection using Office LAN and Dial up account.
