Synchronize application database with Goldmine contacts

Has anyone ever used Access with Gold Mine?

I have an Access database that contains contact information as well as
conference attendees. My user would like to be able to connect to the
Goldmine database and update either Goldmine or my application contact
information. Would like to know more about Goldmine, what it uses as a
backend database, and what the structure of the database is.

I believe that Goldmine uses a version of dBase as the data engine. You can
get older versions of Access to sync with it out of the box. Newer versions
may require the Borland Data Engine license and filters.
