Synchronize Folders Problem in Outlook 2007

Sometimes, when I attempt to send email in Outlook 2007, it stays in
the outbox, and "microsoft office outlook is synchronizing folders"
appears in the taskbar, next to the outlook envelope icon. The
synchronization process keeps on going for well over half an hour, and
the only way I can stop it is to shut down outlook.

My pst file is under 200mb, and I regularly run scanpst on it to check
for errors. I have four POP3 email accounts, and I am not using
Outlook for RSS feeds.

I don't understand what exactly is being synchronized and how I can
stop it. Can anyone help?

Thanks,
Mike

Synchronising is when OL sends/receives mail
Your mail, for some reason is getting stuck in the outbox, and not being
sent untill you stop the OL process and restart. Do you perhaps have an
intergrated virus scanner?

Its not neccessary to run scanpst regularly

I am having the same problem ... everything just freezes for 10 or 15 minutes
while it says it is synchronizing the folders. Another discussion group said
it was due to the folder properties being set to "automatically generate
Microsoft Exchange Views". So I have gone to EVERY folder and unchecked that
box, including all the contacts, calendar, task folders, etc. It still
happens.

Why does it default to generate the views when this laptop is at my home,
and has no Exchange server? And is there an easier way to turn them off? And,
since it is still happening, what else can I do?
