Synchronize with Project Server

Hi, i'm getting the following error message and i was wondering if anyone had
any ideas on how to overcome it:

when i try to link risks to projects by creating a new risk and clicking
save and close, i get
"Project Server failed to update the links between the risks and selected
tasks"

if i click ok the risk appears but when i click Synchronize with project
server i get..

"Project Server failed to update the links in project server database.
Please try again or contact your administrator"

This is also causing the indicator column not to display the associated
risks and issues...any ideas??

If WSS is otherwise working with Project Server, check to make sure that the
intranet address for Project Server was entered correctly in PWA Admin >
Server Configuration.

Hi Gary, thanks for the speedy reply.....checked this already and it's correct
have compared this installation to another standalone on a virtual machine
and they appear identical..except the virtual machine works

Any other ideas?
