Synchronizing Excel and Visio

hi! i have created an excel file and used it to run an org chart via the
visio org chart wizard. my question is: if i modify the visio file (ie:
create dotted line reports, changed shading) is there any way to update the
org chart from my excel file while maintaining the formatting changes i made?
thanks for your help!

by design the org wizard starts from scratch every time it is called. if
you're using v2007 you can use datalinking with excel as another scenario
for updating existing shapes. The orgchart wizard does not support
roundtripping (i.e. create drawing from data, and then update the data when
the drawing is changed.)
