Synchronizing flag definitions between computers

R

Rob McKaughan

I currently use onenote on my laptop & my desktop, with both pointing at the
same files via the network & offline folders. This allows me to access my
notes from either computer almost transparently (i.e. no extra steps by me).

However, it appears that when I customize flag definitions on one computer,
they don't show up on the other computer. Is there a way to synchronize the
definitions between computers as transparently as the note files themselves?

I notice from this discussion group that onennote appears to store
definitions separately in C:\Documents and Settings\{yourname}\Application
Data\Microsoft\OneNote
\Preferences.dat. Having to remember to copy this file between machines
manually is pain. Is there a way to point my laptop to a location on the net
for this file as I do for the note files? That'd be an easy solution.

Thanks!

What if you use a timed batch file or login script to automatically copy
the file on a regular (daily?) basis?

Search back for my name and the word 'sync' in this newsgroup for
information on this topic.

I was hoping for something more elegant, but that may be what I end up with.
